Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) has been announced as winner of the Gold Award at the APAC LearnX Impact Award 2013 in the category of Best New Technology Implementation – Widespread eLearning Adoption. The annual LearnX Impact Awards recognises innovative and path-breaking achievements in the area of eLearning and organisational training.
IHG, in collaboration with PulseLearning, developed a Risk Management eLearning programme covering seven major risk groups. To date, since the programme was initiated in September 2011, forty seven eLearning courses have been deployed.
Simon Ford, Head of Risk Training Systems, IHG said: “As a global team, it is crucial to have in place a globally accessible risk management learning program that reaches out across continents, languages and cultures to provide the level of learning, training and support, vital to champion and protect the trusted reputation of IHG and its brands.
The decision to move from traditional instructor-led training to eLearning was an innovative solution to the problem of a growing target audience and limited human delivery capability; PulseLearning provided the ideal solution to meet IHG’s needs. eLearning has paid dividends and has been proven as the best delivery method to communicate to a global and highly diverse audience.
The eLearning program has been a tremendous success across the IHG Group and we’re delighted to receive this award in recognition of our expansion and continued development of the program. The program is extremely cost effective, the courses provided by PulseLearning deliver scale, consistency and efficiency, representing a £2 million saving to date over previous instructor-led training.”
Richard Marshall, IHG Account Manager, PulseLearning said: “The IHG LearnX award shows the recognition eLearning is receiving across the globe as an innovative and cost-effective approach to employee training. Our goal at PulseLearning is to create real-world action orientated training that changes behaviour and improves our clients’ bottom line. IHG have enjoyed the benefits of this and we continue to work closely on expanding their eLearning programmes.”
